Twelve Book Recommendations from 2025
I had a great year of books. According to StoryGraph I got through 63 in total, and “lingered over quieter, thoughtful moments, [feeling] every heartbeat on the page”. I’d happily describe myself as the sentimental type, so I’m glad StoryGraph is a better predictor of my personality than my star sign.
Out of those 63 books there are a dozen or so that stand out, so I won’t bore you with a list of every book I read accompanied by an arbitrary rating, but a few that I’d love for other folks to read and let me know if you liked them.
- Wilding by Isabella Tree
- The Bee Sting by Paul Murray
- The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
- Things Become Other Things by Craig Mod
- Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa
- The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
- The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami
- Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy
- Playground by Richard Powers
- Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
- Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata
- The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett
