Twelve Book Recommendations from 2025

I had a great year of books. According to StoryGraph I got through 63 in total, and “lingered over quieter, thoughtful moments, [feeling] every heartbeat on the page”. I’d happily describe myself as the sentimental type, so I’m glad StoryGraph is a better predictor of my personality than my star sign.

Out of those 63 books there are a dozen or so that stand out, so I won’t bore you with a list of every book I read accompanied by an arbitrary rating, but a few that I’d love for other folks to read and let me know if you liked them.

  1. Wilding by Isabella Tree
  2. The Bee Sting by Paul Murray
  3. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
  4. Things Become Other Things by Craig Mod
  5. Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa
  6. The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
  7. The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami
  8. Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy
  9. Playground by Richard Powers
  10. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  11. Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata
  12. The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett

If you’d like to share reading journeys, let’s be pals on StoryGraph.
